Year 5 - Elm Class

Welcome to Elm Class, where we are becoming independent learners who persevere when we meet new challenges. We set ourselves high standards in our work, but we know that it’s ok to make mistakes as we grow and develop.

Every day is different and we approach each lesson with curiosity and enthusiasm. We love hands-on subjects like Computing, Art and DT where we can create things and express ourselves. In Maths we are excited for the new challenges of the Year 5 curriculum and in English we enjoy our thoughtful discussions about our class books. We are enthusiastic readers and enjoy choosing our own books from the class library. Although we’re a lively class, quiet reading is one of our favourite parts of the day and once we’re engrossed in our books we don’t always want to stop!

Our friendships mean a lot to us, and we nurture one another with kindness and encouragement. We are grateful for the blessings in our lives, especially our relationships with others and our wonderful school environment. We are always excited for our break times and can usually be found on Twig Hill or exploring the OPAL equipment using our teamwork skills.

Our class teachers, Mrs Fifield and Mr Dando, help us to grow and flourish every day. Why not come and visit our classroom to see the amazing work we are doing!
