Author Alison Weatherby visits St Swithun's
A brilliant visit from Alison Weatherby on Tuesday 23rd June 2026 for our Upper Juniors. She introduced her new middle-grade book, ‘The Common Criminals’ Club: Death Before Detention’.
Despite the heat, pupils were fully engaged, creating their own murder mysteries and listening to Alison read the chapter where the main character discover a dead body! The session ended with some excellent questions from our budding readers and writers.
Many children left keen to read the book, and those who had pre-ordered copies were delighted to have them signed by Alison.
