Day 1 at Woodlands
Monday 7th November 2022
10:10pm - Woodlands Manor
The house is (...finally) almost silent after an exciting and action packed first day. After rather a lengthy journey, we arrived at the centre about 1:30pm, and after popping our belongings in rooms, we met our instructors. They introduced us to the house and the week's aims and expectations and before we knew it, we were out and about around the grounds doing some brilliant team building activities. Some of these were physically challenging, for example getting the whole team over a huge wooden wall, whilst some were more mentally taxing for example moving huge different sized tyres from one location to the other, but ensuring they were kept in size order. Yes, it's raining and rather blustery out there, but that certainly hasn't dampened our spirits!
Dinner was scrummy - goujons, chips and beans followed by crumble and custard, after which we togged back up for a night hike. We went up a hill....and back down again(!) We enjoyed looking at the full moon which peaked out for a little while and also listening to the owls hooting in the woods.
Tomorrow Group A (with Miss Timms) and Group D (with Mrs Dowe) are staying on site for climbing and the high ropes/ zip lines and Group B (with Miss Maskell) and Group C (with Mrs Reaney) are going canoeing.
The weather forecast looks to be .... rainy... but och well, we've got waterproofs(!)
Night night - over n out for now!
