Year 3 Visit Chedworth Roman Villa
Last week, Oak Class alongside Willow Class, went to visit the National Trust site Chedworth Roman Villa as part of their history topic of Roman Britain. Chedworth Roman Villa is located in Gloucestershire and is one of the largest and most elaborate Roman villas so far discovered in Britain.
Oak Class spent the day looking at the wonderful Roman artefacts and mosaic floor coverings and were given a guided tour around the whole of the villa where they learnt about the invention of under floor heating as well as how to enjoy yourself at a Roman bath. They particularly enjoyed learning about Roman lavatories! To finish off the perfect experience, Oak Class were then able to have a go at making their own mosaic to take home. A perfect way to be introduced to a new topic.
