Year 3 visit Chedworth Roman Villa

Last week Oak Class and Willow Class went to visit the National Trust site Chedworth Roman Villa as part of their history topic of Roman Britain. Chedworth Roman Villa is located in Gloucestershire and is one of the largest and most elaborate Roman villas so far discovered in Britain.

Both Classes spent the day looking at the wonderful Roman artefacts, ruins of a Roman Villa and mosaic floor coverings and were given a guided tour where they learnt about the invention of under floor heating as well as how to enjoy yourself at a Roman bath. They particularly enjoyed learning about Roman lavatories!  To finish off the perfect experience, Oak and Willow had a go at making their own mosaic to take back.
