The government is providing additional funding to improve provision of PE and sport in primary schools. This funding is provided jointly by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and is ring-fenced; therefore, can only be spent on provision of PE and sport in schools.
Schools must spend the additional funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but have the freedom to choose how they do this.

St Swithun's School understands the importance of physical activity and sport and in 2018 - 2019 PE funding will continue to support our Partnership Sports Co-ordinator, Continued Professional Development (CPD), PE planning support software, affiliations to leagues, competitions, our Sports Leaders program and other initiatives.
Measuring the Impact During the academic year we will continue to monitor the progress of all pupils through teacher assessments each term and lesson observations. This will inform future decisions about PE and sports provision at St Swithun's. We are particularly proud of the improved sporting opportunities for our children through our focus on inter house and inter school sporting competitions. However, our aim for this coming school year is to ensure that these opportunities are taken up by EVERY child in Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2.
