School Opening and COVID 19

Returning to school - How can parents and carers help?
  • Prepare your child - talk through what to expect, read what school have said will happen and what they should do. Explain the arrangements for drop off and pick up and social distancing
  • Work towards a  routine for school mornings - the week before get the children up at the time they will need to be up for school, and maybe go out for a walk. This will help to get a healthy sleep pattern in place and will help them wake up on time for the school day.
  • Have lots of conversations about all the positives of going back to school- friends, play time and other activities. Talk about the fun things they will be able to do in the future.
  • Give lots of praise for how well they have coped with being at home and doing their work
  • Acknowledge how difficult it has been for all the family and praise yourself!

Getting Tested for COVID 19
IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT COVID-19 CASES
If your child develops symptoms that could be Covid-19 related, please arrange a test for your child.  This can be booked online at https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test.

If the test result is positive, please send an email as soon as possible (ie as a matter of urgency) to: covidresults@st-swithuns.oxon.sch.uk.  PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER, IN CASE WE NEED TO CONTACT YOU FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.

In the case of a positive test result for one of the children or a member of staff, we will contact Public Health England for further advice.  Should it be necessary for any other pupils or members of staff to self-isolate as a result, we will contact the parents/carers of the affected pupils by sending you a Parentmail message.

Thank you everyone.
