Returning to school - How can parents and carers help?
Prepare your child - talk through what to expect, read what school have said will happen and what they should do. Explain the arrangements for drop off and pick up and social distancing
Work towards a routine for school mornings - the week before get the children up at the time they will need to be up for school, and maybe go out for a walk. This will help to get a healthy sleep pattern in place and will help them wake up on time for the school day.
Have lots of conversations about all the positives of going back to school- friends, play time and other activities. Talk about the fun things they will be able to do in the future.
Give lots of praise for how well they have coped with being at home and doing their work
Acknowledge how difficult it has been for all the family and praise yourself!

IMPORTANT REMINDER ABOUT COVID-19 CASES If your child develops symptoms that could be Covid-19 related, please arrange a test for your child. This can be booked online at https://www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test.
If the test result is positive, please send an email as soon as possible (ie as a matter of urgency) to: covidresults@st-swithuns.oxon.sch.uk. PLEASE INCLUDE YOUR TELEPHONE NUMBER, IN CASE WE NEED TO CONTACT YOU FOR FURTHER INFORMATION.
In the case of a positive test result for one of the children or a member of staff, we will contact Public Health England for further advice.
